About the position

The Real Estate Paralegal at QTS Data Centers plays a crucial role in supporting the company's legal operations, particularly in the real estate acquisition and disposition processes. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including business owners and members of the Legal Department, to ensure the smooth execution of legal transactions related to real estate. The paralegal will be responsible for reviewing contracts, preparing legal documents, managing critical dates, and assisting in due diligence and post-closing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of the real estate acquisition and disposition process.
  • Review contracts and prepare critical dates, leases, titles, plats, and surveys.
  • Prepare closing documents, objection letters, utility easements, and development agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence and assist in the engineering process as required by Legal Real Estate attorneys.
  • Maintain and update reports dealing with critical dates and deadlines for the Real Estate and Engineering Departments.
  • Create, organize, and maintain legal files for each location to be acquired, sold, or leased.
  • Serve as a point of communication with title companies to obtain title documents and coordinate closings.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss legal project status and deadlines.
  • Assist in managing the company's Real Estate document library and support the Legal Department with transactions.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on real estate law.
  • Strong understanding of real estate law and transaction processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document management software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with legal document management software.
  • Familiarity with real estate processes in multiple states.
