This role involves providing asset management and analytical support for our high yield and distressed commercial mortgage loan portfolio, which includes bridge loans and subordinate debt. You will be responsible for monitoring property operating performance, tracking key performance indicators, performing market research and analysis, and negotiating strategic concerns at various levels. In this position, you will perform financial analysis of our existing high-yield commercial mortgage loan portfolio on a quarterly and annual basis. You will monitor property performance and manage loan strategies, which may require limited travel to properties and markets to identify existing and future risks and opportunities. Your role will also involve assisting with underwriting and analysis of the portfolio, providing actionable recommendations, and monitoring quarterly financials to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Additionally, you will assist with borrower negotiations, workouts, and REO equity strategies, review and approve borrowers' annual property operating budgets, and participate in industry courses and seminars to enhance your skills and knowledge. Building efficient working relationships within the Real Estate Finance Group will be essential to identify strategic opportunities for improvement and promote a positive working environment among your colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis of existing high yielding commercial mortgage loan portfolio on quarterly/annual basis.
  • Monitor property performance and manage loan strategy, including limited travel to properties and markets to identify existing and future risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with underwriting and analysis of portfolio and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor quarterly financials to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Assist with borrower negotiations, workouts, and REO equity strategies.
  • Review and approval of borrowers' annual property operating budgets.
  • Participate in industry courses and seminars to increase skills and knowledge.
  • Develop efficient working relationships throughout the Real Estate Finance Group to identify strategic opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote a positive attitude and working environment among fellow employees.

Requirements

  • College Degree with Major in Real Estate, Finance, or similar degree with relevant experience.
  • Up to 2 years' experience in commercial real estate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of CRE analytical and market research tools (CoStar, REIS, Argus, etc.) is a strong plus.
