About the position

The Real Estate Projects Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the acquisition, management, operation, maintenance, and repair of County buildings and leased properties. This role involves overseeing a portfolio of approximately 37 leases, ensuring effective interactions with County tenant agencies, and managing various real estate agreements. The position requires exceptional project management skills and a strong understanding of commercial real estate practices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the acquisition and management of County buildings and leased properties.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of County buildings and leased properties.
  • Manage GSA's leased property portfolio, including budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Provide oversight of easements, licenses, and other real estate agreements.
  • Interact effectively with County tenant agencies to ensure uninterrupted operations at leased properties.

Requirements

  • Eight years of full-time paid experience in leasing, acquisition, management, or development of commercial real estate.
  • At least one year of experience in financial analysis and one year in project management of tenant improvements.
  • Completion of the Alameda County Management Academy 'Management and Supervision Certificate Program' may substitute for six months of experience.
  • Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (may substitute for four years of experience).
  • Experience with Computer Aided Facilities Management Systems (CAFM).
