About the position

The City of Las Vegas is seeking a Real Estate Specialist for the Economic and Urban Development Department. This role involves managing the acquisition and disposition of city-owned properties, assisting business owners and prospective tenants in securing commercial spaces, and overseeing real property management and reporting systems. The position also includes public relations and administrative tasks related to real estate responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, negotiate, and oversee the acquisition and disposition of real properties owned by the city and the Redevelopment Agency (RDA).
  • Assist the Redevelopment Manager in formulating long-term redevelopment and real estate strategies.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of section goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a quality retail development program within the RDA area.
  • Oversee financial performance of real estate assets and recommend assets for disposition.
  • Ensure compliance with established work methods and city policies.
  • Attend and participate in interdepartmental and professional meetings.
  • Develop and lead real estate tours and marketing activities for the RDA.
  • Serve as a liaison with other city departments and handle complex issues.
  • Implement Special Improvement Districts and Community Area Vitalization Projects.
  • Monitor and maintain supplies and equipment for efficient operations.
  • Participate in budget preparation and administration.
  • Order appraisals of RDA and city assets.
  • Prepare purchase and sale agreements and leasing agreements.
  • Assist in the site selection process and manage outside contractors.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in redevelopment, economic development, land development, commercial real estate, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, marketing, planning, economics, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance thereafter.
  • A Nevada Real Estate license is preferred.
