About the position

The Home Care Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules of home care staff to ensure optimal service delivery to clients. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage appointments and communicate with both internal staff and clients. The Scheduler will work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks while ensuring that clients receive timely and efficient care.

Responsibilities

  • Create staff schedules for home care employees.
  • Coordinate with clients to identify their scheduling needs.
  • Ensure optimal service delivery by managing appointment times.
  • Plan weekly employee schedules and determine appointment lengths.
  • Make phone calls to patients or customers regarding their appointments.
  • Book meetings, appointments, or events on behalf of the employer.
  • Coordinate business meetings, health care appointments, training sessions, and follow-up visits.
  • Create and maintain schedules for individuals or teams within the organization.
  • Balance availability and resources against incoming requests to ensure timely task completion.
  • Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in priorities or deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Clerical or administrative experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of health care terminology is helpful.
  • Basic computer program knowledge.
