About the position

The Lead at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while providing direction and support to teammates. The Lead is responsible for building a strong team culture, planning and organizing store operations, and ensuring compliance with merchandising and presentation standards. They also assist in training and developing teammates, fostering an inclusive environment, and upholding company policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and support teammates in their roles.
• Execute brand standards and ensure compliance with merchandising and presentation guidelines.
• Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the Assistant Store Manager.
• Observe in-store interviews and assist in building a strong team.
• Train and onboard new teammates, as well as cross-train current staff.
• Provide hands-on coaching and explain the rationale behind tasks and processes.
• Create an inclusive environment for teammates and customers, ensuring respect and safety.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial lifting devices.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
