About the position

Nucor Rebar Fabrication is seeking a Project Manager to oversee complex projects from estimating to completion at their new bar mill in Lexington, NC. This role involves managing detailing teams, coordinating with multiple vendors, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maximizing profits. The position requires a strong focus on contract management and effective communication with contractors, engineers, and architects.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects with detailing teams and multiple products and vendors from estimating to project completion.
• Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts to ensure safe and cost-effective product delivery.
• Provide total contract management of each assigned project, including coordination of detailing, scheduling, delivery, and costs.
• Oversee efforts to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations on assigned projects.
• Coordinate project requirements with contractors, engineers, and architects using company guidelines.
• Schedule detailing and delivery of required products and services with contractors and detailing teams.
• Review project changes to determine scope and work with estimating team for accuracy.
• Assist in the change order process and ensure acceptance by the customer.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers, and customers.
• Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
• Work with Detailing Manager to control financial aspects of contracts while maintaining customer relationships.
• Formulate reports on work progress, costs, and scheduling.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or three years of experience as a rebar detailer or demonstrated construction project management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards.
• Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes.
• Basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices, and human relations.
• At least 3 years of experience detailing rebar projects.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Effective leadership skills and ability to coordinate actions of self and others.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to use applicable tools.
