About The Position

The Rebate Analyst at UniPro Foodservice Inc plays a crucial role in the company's operations by ensuring the accurate and timely collection of supplier rebates for UniPro Members. This position is essential for processing and reconciling all incoming supplier rebate payments, ensuring that these payments are distributed correctly to the respective Members. The Rebate Analyst will also be responsible for liaising directly with Suppliers to secure any outstanding payments, which is vital for maintaining the financial health of the organization. A significant aspect of this role involves analyzing rebate trends to optimize earnings for Members, making it a key position in driving financial performance. In terms of responsibilities, the Rebate Analyst will verify supplier payments against submitted backups, utilizing Microsoft Excel extensively along with data manipulation techniques. The role requires the use of tools like "450 Transformer" to prepare Excel files for integration into the current Rebate Tracking System. The Analyst will also reconcile supplier payments against Member accruals, addressing discrepancies and ensuring corrections are made by Supplier Contract Maintenance representatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for collaborating with supplier contacts to resolve issues related to payment discrepancies, aging unresolved matters, or remittance format corrections. The Rebate Analyst will need to gain a comprehensive understanding of rebate programs for assigned suppliers, including their parameters and exclusions, and will be expected to seek clarification from UniPro Category Management or Approved suppliers when necessary. Effective communication and follow-up skills are essential for prompting timely responses from suppliers and recovering past due rebates. The Analyst will also be responsible for updating the Rebate Management System based on supplier responses and conducting thorough analysis and research to prepare and distribute detailed Quarterly Supplier Reports, which are crucial for securing missing rebate payments for Members. Collaboration is a key component of this role, as the Rebate Analyst will work closely with internal teams such as Category Management, Contract Maintenance, and Finance to resolve supplier disputes and update contract terms as needed. Additionally, the Analyst will provide support and training to internal teams on Rebate Management procedures and systems, ensuring that all team members are proficient in the necessary tools and processes. The Rebate Analyst will also participate in systems development and process improvement initiatives, collaborating with IT staff on Rebate Management system development, testing programs for accuracy, and providing feedback on new versions or modules. This role requires active participation in design meetings for system enhancements and the development of enhanced reporting capabilities to monitor trends, contract expiration, and compliance. The Analyst will also be expected to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline Rebate Management processes, while staying updated on industry trends and best practices in Rebate Management. Travel on company business may be necessary as required.
