The Recreation Technician (Rec Tech) position is a part-time, non-exempt role within the Community Center, primarily focused on supporting recreational programs and maintaining the facility's appearance. The Rec Tech is responsible for opening and closing the Center, organizing and assisting with both new and existing recreational programs, and ensuring that the facility is clean and well-maintained. This role also involves fulfilling custodial needs while on site, maintaining statistical records and reports, and serving as the contact staff for rental needs. The position requires working under the supervision of the Community Center Manager and may involve working special events as requested. The work schedule for this position varies and is on-call, typically requiring 15-25 hours per week. Coverage hours include Monday to Friday from 4 PM to 9 PM, with additional hours on weekends that can vary between 8 AM and 9 PM. The Rec Tech must be able to work well with individuals of all ages and is expected to obtain a First Aid/CPR certificate within six months of hire. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary, along with strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact courteously with fellow employees and participants. The ability to maintain regular attendance and pay close attention to detail is crucial for this role.
