About the position

The REC Test Engineer will play a crucial role in the assembly and testing team at Siemens Energy in Alpharetta, Georgia. This position involves participation in all project phases, including proposals, design, engineering, assembly, testing, and commissioning. The engineer will ensure that safety and reliability standards are met, verify the accuracy of manufactured cabinets, and oversee the completion of quality control documentation to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing on cabinets and equipment prior to the customer Factory Acceptance Test.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to review designed drawings and address manufacturing defects identified during testing.
  • Collaborate with the Test Lead to develop or refine testing documentation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the testing phase.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing with customers and prepare detailed test reports, sharing lessons learned with the team.
  • Travel to perform site walk-downs, oversee installation, and commissioning, and provide service work for installed systems.
  • Conduct hardware setup, power-up, integrated testing of application software, hardware protection testing, and simulated environment validation.
  • Learn Siemens Energy's control systems and HMI to support system deployment and customer solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field OR minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical and I&C systems.
  • Proven experience in fixing and resolving technical issues in control systems.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation and control system principles and components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
