About the position

The Receiving Associate at Rural King is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading shipments, preparing merchandise for display, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This role is crucial for ensuring that products are well-organized, easily accessible, and properly stocked in the store. The position requires adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving and processing merchandise, as well as collaboration with the receiving team to support overall store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload shipments efficiently.
  • Unpack and prepare merchandise for display.
  • Set up displays and put products on shelves.
  • Check in inventory and ensure accurate merchandising of apparel racks.
  • Execute purchase order processing following established SOPs.
  • Utilize scan guns and computer software for receipt documentation.
  • Monitor and address purchase order and DC shortages daily.
  • Maintain thorough records by filing receiving paperwork.
  • Contribute to efficient DC truck sorting and verify vendor price tags.
  • Implement security tag placement and price labeling for apparel items.
  • Ensure adequate supplies inventory, including hangers and labels.
  • Handle store-to-store transfers, shipping, and receiving accurately.
  • Assist in inventory management during high-demand periods.
  • Collaborate with the receiving team for seamless operations.
  • Organize product onto rocket carts for distribution.
  • Transport sorted freight to sales floors in appropriate quantities.
  • Assist management in accurate merchandise tracking.
  • Facilitate store-to-store and UPS transfers.
  • Manage negative on-hand inventory research and review.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work environment.
  • Operate general office equipment, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments.
  • Engage in learning initiatives such as training programs and workshops.
  • Provide friendly and professional support to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of receiving experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of producing error-free work and meeting quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.
