About the position

Valmont Industries is seeking a motivated Receiving Clerk to manage the inventory of incoming and outgoing products, ensuring quality and proper storage. This role involves inspecting materials for damage, operating forklifts, and performing clerical tasks to maintain an organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Track inventory of incoming and outgoing products.
  • Inspect materials for damage and defects.
  • Identify materials being loaded and unloaded for proper storage.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled and accounted for.
  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved or shipped.
  • Advise warehouse crew of load amounts and provide instructions for incorrect amounts.
  • Double check quality and piece counts on loads prior to shipment.
  • Operate forklift safely and securely.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and follow safety regulations.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as typing correspondence and maintaining filing systems.
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness and perform general housekeeping.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Passion and integrity with a drive to excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • One year of previous experience in a warehouse.
  • One year of previous experience operating a forklift in a professional environment.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
