Receiving Clerk

About the position

The Receiving Clerk at G&C Food Distributors is responsible for managing inbound truck loads and ensuring efficient receiving operations. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various departments to facilitate smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct all incoming drivers in a timely fashion.
• Handle all incoming receiving phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist Buyers.
• Collect receiving paperwork and phone numbers from inbound drivers when necessary.
• Apply a lumping fee if applicable and collect payment from inbound drivers and customer pickups.
• Input data from the PO cover sheet into the receiving schedule, including times, names, and comments.
• Scan receiving paperwork into the cabinet program daily.
• Maintain a positive attitude throughout the entire shift.
• Communicate across all departments regarding receiving schedule changes.
• Assist other warehouse departments that may require customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong face-to-face and over-the-phone customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
• Demonstrate superb accuracy when documenting.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• Previous experience in a Warehouse Receiving environment preferred.
