About The Position

The Receptionist/Assistant Caseworker I for Criminal & Child Support Divisions at Elko County is responsible for performing various clerical duties to support the District Attorney's Office. Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and type at least 40 words per minute with accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with county policies.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and callers professionally and provide requested services.
  • Screen calls and take accurate messages, entering case notes in the management system.
  • Send out applications and forms to customers as requested.
  • Calendar appointments for child support staff as needed.
  • File legal documents with Justice and District Courts, obtaining signatures when required.
  • Scan documents into the case management system and distribute incoming mail and reports.
  • Maintain copiers and keep an accurate inventory of office supplies.
  • Perform miscellaneous secretarial tasks as directed by the Office Manager or Program Manager.
  • Open new bad check files in the case management system and monitor cases for payment.
  • Explain general policies and procedures to the public.
