About the position
The Receptionist at Conviva North Homestead plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth communication and administrative support within the healthcare facility. This position involves managing incoming and outgoing calls, assisting visitors, and performing various clerical tasks to support the operational needs of the center. The Receptionist is responsible for checking in patients, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate records, all while providing excellent customer service in a bilingual environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls utilizing a Genesys system.
- Schedule appointments and take messages as needed.
- Transfer calls to appropriate staff members.
- Document discussions, messages, and actions taken to process inquiries.
- Resolve patient issues through independent problem solving.
- Check in and out patients and verify insurance information.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write & speak).
- 2 years of front desk experience in a medical setting.
- Customer service experience.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and helpful when dealing with upset customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of and strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with EMR systems such as E-Clinical Works, Epic, Athena Health, and/or NextGen.
- Experience in a highly customer service-oriented environment.
