About the position

Chief of Staff KC is seeking a dedicated Receptionist/Legal Assistant for a client located in the Prairie Village, KS area. This full-time position requires a proactive individual who can assist with various administrative tasks while providing support to the attorneys on staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory of supplies, managing employee billable hours, and interacting with clients and vendors. The role also involves answering phones, booking travel for partners, and tracking expenses. Additionally, the Receptionist/Legal Assistant will prepare, answer, and compile documents, as well as write, type, prepare, and mail letter correspondence. A key aspect of this position is maintaining file and document organization and maintenance, which includes initiating new procedures for better operation and file scans. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to juggle various tasks effectively while maintaining regular and reliable attendance and punctuality. This role requires a cooperative and professional interaction with others, developing and maintaining constructive working relationships. The Receptionist/Legal Assistant will perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision, and will work in an office environment, seated for long periods in front of a computer, typing documents, responding to emails, managing calendars, and answering phones. The ability to independently make decisions and operate office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and telephones is essential.
