About the position

The Receptionist at Hoosier Village Retirement Community is responsible for providing excellent customer service to residents, guests, and staff. This part-time position focuses on managing phone calls, greeting visitors, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations during weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the phone by identifying the community and assisting callers as needed.
  • Screen employee phone calls and redirect them to the appropriate department supervisor.
  • Greet and assist all guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Direct guests to supervisors for resident information.
  • Set up and use the intercom system professionally when necessary.
  • Use computer software to run reports and create documentation as needed.
  • Take guest meal reservations and deliver mail.
  • Address issues with residents or family members as needed.
  • Report concerns or issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist residents in evacuating the building.
  • Complete annual in-service training according to schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proper telephone skills and basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Typing proficiency and familiarity with standard computer systems (word processing) and office equipment are required.
  • Problem-solving skills and good judgment are essential.
