About the position

As a Receptionist at Brookdale, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment for all visitors entering the community. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting visitors, answering their questions, ensuring they sign guest sheets, and directing phone calls to the appropriate residents and staff. You will also be responsible for sorting, delivering, and collecting incoming and outgoing community and resident mail. In addition to these tasks, you may be asked to perform basic office and clerical functions, as well as maintain visitor logs. In the event of a resident emergency, you will respond by contacting the appropriate internal and external parties according to community protocol. This position is part-time, requiring you to work every other Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM, as well as every Tuesday and Friday from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. Responsibilities

  • Greet all visitors entering the community and answer their questions.
  • Ensure visitors sign guest sheets and direct phone calls to the proper residents and staff.
  • Sort, deliver, and collect incoming and outgoing community and resident mail.
  • Perform basic office and clerical functions as needed.
  • Maintain visitor logs and records.
  • Respond to resident emergencies by calling appropriate internal and external parties based on community protocol.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with visitors and residents.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Basic office skills, including familiarity with mail sorting and clerical functions.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
