About the position
The Construction Estimator position at Volarify involves managing and creating detailed estimates for reconstruction projects, primarily in commercial and some residential sectors. The role requires expertise in Xactimate and a strong understanding of construction processes, with a focus on accuracy and compliance with local building codes. This position offers opportunities for career advancement and is based in Marlborough, MA, covering projects in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage multiple accurate estimates in Xactimate for commercial and select residential reconstruction projects.
- Perform detailed site assessments to capture all necessary aspects of framing, general construction, and supplement needs.
- Establish and maintain project budgets, managing overages and keeping the project on track.
- Meet with clients, adjustors, and consultants to scope and negotiate project estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and company estimating standards.
- Actively participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to refine estimating skills.
Requirements
- 5+ years in construction estimating, focusing on reconstruction projects.
- Proficiency in Xactimate with a proven ability to produce clear, accurate estimates.
- Strong understanding of commercial and residential reconstruction, framing, general construction, and supplemental line items.
- High attention to detail, ability to work independently, and a strong work ethic.
