About the position

The Rehancement Group, Inc. (TRG) is seeking Records Consultants to join our team in supporting a Federal client in Winchester, VA for the 2nd shift, which runs from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am. This position requires an Active Top Secret Security Clearance. As a Records Consultant, you will play a crucial role in evaluating options in the context of project objectives and contributing to the implementation of strategic direction. You will support project objectives through various activities, including conducting project interviews, gathering data, and developing plans and recommendations that align with project goals. Your responsibilities will include demonstrating problem-solving skills and knowledge of records management, applying lessons learned from observation and analysis of processes to develop efficiencies, and supporting teams of analysts working on complex, large-scale issues that require research, analysis, planning, documentation, and technical support. You will also propose and develop methodologies for information and records management, perform routine records management and clerical functions, and assist clients in records inventory and lifecycle management. In addition, you will be responsible for data entry in proprietary databases, retrieving files from storage, reviewing files for clearance levels and disposition dates, and researching relevant databases to identify files for merging. You will also be involved in reorganizing or repairing files, inventorying records, preparing boxes for shipment, and converting older media into current formats. Your role will require you to prepare physical files for high-speed scanning, validate image quality, and perform rescanning as necessary. You may also be assigned special projects by the Site Manager in coordination with federal staff.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate options in the context of project objectives and contribute to the implementation of strategic direction.
  • Support project objectives through activities such as conducting project interviews, gathering data, developing plans and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and knowledge of records management.
  • Apply lessons learned from observation/analysis of processes to develop efficiencies/process.
  • Support teams of analysts working on complex large scale issues requiring research, analysis, planning, documentation, and technical support.
  • Propose and/or develop methodologies for information and records management.
  • Perform routine records management and clerical functions to assist client in records inventory, records lifecycle, inventory/file services, and other records management functions.
  • Perform data entries in proprietary database.
  • Retrieve files from storage to determine disposition and if appropriate, return them to storage.
  • Review files for clearance level, disposition dates, FOIPA status, and any other relevant information.
  • Research relevant databases to identify files and locations for merging of loose documents.
  • Reorganize or repair files if needed.
  • Inventory records and files.
  • Prepare boxes, boxing records for shipment (may require combining boxes into skids, shrink wrapping, palletizing and moving pallets with the use of a pallet jack).
  • File and merge loose documents.
  • Convert analog or older digital media into current formats.
  • Prepare physical files for high-speed scanning by removing staples, paperclips, binder clips.
  • Reassemble physical files to the condition in which they were received.
  • Conduct electronic review of individual images to validate image quality, orientation, and clarity.
  • Rescan individual pages using desktop scanners.
  • Complete other special projects as assigned by Site Manager in coordination with the federal staff.

Requirements

  • High school degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, or Associate's degree and 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Active DOD Top Secret Clearance Required (Must be eligible for CI Poly).
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and ability in the development of solutions, recommendations, or outcomes across multiple complex tasks.
  • Experience in assimilating information from various sources, analyzing existing processes, and developing alternatives based on business process requirements to ensure data integrity is maintained.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of information technology, telecommunications, or security systems.
  • Competent in general clerical principles, practices, and techniques; organizing and maintaining files and records database/recordkeeping systems.
  • Capable of performing quantitative and qualitative work that is measured in final product and/or production.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
