About the position

The Recovery Care Specialist at Magnolia Creek Treatment Center plays a crucial role in supporting women with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. This position involves promoting client involvement in treatment programs and assisting with various clinical, nutritional, and administrative activities to ensure optimal client outcomes. The work environment is designed to be safe and supportive, allowing clients to engage in recovery in a comfortable, home-like setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily milieu at Magnolia Creek Treatment Center, assisting with program activities, observations, and charting progress.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality requirements and regulations.
  • Familiarize with the histories and needs of clients, identifying cues and behaviors indicating changes in status.
  • Provide appropriate emotional support to clients under the direction of the Lead Recovery Care Specialist.
  • Spend one-on-one time with clients during scheduled activities and leisure time.
  • Communicate pertinent patient information to the Clinical Director and treatment team as appropriate.
  • Maintain proper and timely documentation regarding clients' progress.
  • Alert management and Therapists of client concerns or problems.
  • Eat meals with clients, providing role modeling for healthy food and body image behaviors.
  • Observe client behavior during and after meals and assist in various nutritional activities.
  • Demonstrate proper food safety and handling standards when preparing/serving meals.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties and other assigned tasks.
  • Conduct tours for clients, family members, and visitors as requested.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience with eating disorders is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a treatment center environment.
  • Certification in mental health or related fields.
