About the position

The Recovery Project Coordinator at Ampact is a full-time role focused on supporting individuals in their recovery journeys from substance use disorders. As a Recovery Navigator, you will leverage your own recovery experience to provide mentoring, peer support, and resource navigation to clients. This position involves working closely with recovery communities, engaging in skill-based training, and fostering relationships that empower individuals to take charge of their recovery. The role is part of the AmeriCorps program, emphasizing community service and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with others to maintain their progress in recovery.
  • Provide mentoring and peer support based on personal recovery experience.
  • Assist clients in navigating social service resources and programs.
  • Participate in training and professional development, including Peer Recovery Support training.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to build their confidence and skills.
  • Encourage clients to have agency over their own recovery.
  • Share experiences with the wider community as a Recovery Corps ambassador.

Requirements

  • In recovery for at least one uninterrupted year from a substance use disorder.
  • Dependable with a history of good attendance.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule based on agreed hours commitment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication, databases, and videoconferencing.
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Able to successfully complete a background check.
