About the position

The Recovery Specialist in the Community Support Program at Community Mental Health Affiliates (CMHA) is responsible for serving as a case manager to support clients with mental health, medical, and substance use needs. This role focuses on developing person-centered recovery goals, advocating for clients, and teaching essential life skills to promote independent living in the community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a case manager to support clients with mental health, medical, and substance use needs.
• Develop person-centered recovery goals to help clients live, learn, socialize, work, and maintain health and wellness.
• Provide advocacy, support, and guidance in contacting external organizations such as Social Security, DSS, DCF, and DMHAS.
• Educate clients on utilizing emergency and community resources to meet basic needs.
• Teach life skills necessary for independent living, including finances, entitlements, and daily living activities.
• Collaborate with other CMHA teams to ensure comprehensive service delivery to clients.

Requirements

• Valid DMV license
• 1 year of case management experience with an understanding of mental health conditions
• High School Diploma or GED

Nice-to-haves

• B.S. Degree in a mental health related field
• Experience in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
• Certification in MANDT, First Aid, and CPR
