About the position

The Recovery Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting consumers in achieving self-sufficiency through personalized interventions and support within a therapeutic environment. This position involves working collaboratively with clients to develop service plans and providing a range of recovery-oriented services in residential recovery programs located in Aston, Drexel Hill, Upper Darby, and Media, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services as defined by program description and best practice standards in compliance with licensure standards and Recovery model principles.
  • Assist the program coordinator and educate residents in areas such as medications, budgeting, self-care, and supportive counseling.
  • Manage a caseload of 4-5 clients and provide services based on client and program needs.
  • Perform direct care tasks including light housekeeping and cooking as needed.
  • Advocate for residents and maintain required documentation to comply with regulations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, providing a wide range of recovery-oriented services.
  • Conduct daily van runs and accompany residents on medical appointments.
  • Administer medication to clients according to DPW standards.
  • Intervene appropriately in crises and support consumers in maintaining healthy relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of billable services and submit them promptly.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree with 1 year of experience in a human service-related field or equivalent training/experience.
  • Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal clearance, Fingerprint federal criminal history, Valid Driver's license, and verification of not being on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.
