About the position

The Recovery Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting consumers in achieving self-sufficiency through individualized interventions and a therapeutic environment. This position involves working closely with clients to implement service plans and provide various recovery-oriented services in a residential recovery program setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services as defined by program description and best practice standards in compliance with licensure standards and Recovery model principles.
  • Assist the program coordinator and educate residents in areas such as medications, budgeting, self-care, and supportive counseling.
  • Handle a caseload of 4-5 clients and perform direct care tasks including light housekeeping and cooking as needed.
  • Advocate for residents and maintain required documentation to comply with 2600 regulations.
  • Work independently and as a team player, providing a wide range of recovery-oriented services to residents.
  • Conduct daily van runs and accompany residents on medical appointments.
  • Administer medication to clients according to DPW medication administration standards.
  • Intervene appropriately in crises and support consumers in maintaining healthy relationships and resolving conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate records of billable services and submit them promptly as dictated by the program.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree with 1 year of experience in a human service-related field or equivalent training/experience.
  • Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal clearance, Fingerprint federal criminal history, Valid Driver's license, and verification of not being on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.
