About the position

The Recovery Support Specialist/Community Engagement Specialist will be part of the Mobile Crisis Response Team at Trinity Services, Inc. This role involves responding to mental health-related crisis calls in the community, providing support, promoting recovery, and collaborating with other professionals to develop action plans for individuals in crisis. Responsibilities

• Provide support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
• Facilitate the development of appropriate action plans to ensure safety and comfort.
• Utilize and teach problem-solving techniques and strategies to combat negative self-talk.
• Assist participants in identifying strengths, recovery goals, and barriers to wellness.
• Serve as a role model for effective coping techniques and self-care strategies.
• Attend relevant seminars and trainings to enhance RSS techniques.
• Work with the team to take appropriate action with high-risk indicators.
• Conduct outreach and connect individuals to community resources.

Requirements

• Lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance abuse services.
• GED or higher education.
• Public speaking and communication skills.
• Experience as a consumer or facilitator of groups.
• Ability to utilize a computer for service documentation.
• Teaching skills and non-judgmental personality.
• Empathic listening skills.
• Valid driver license and current automobile liability insurance.
• Current CRSS or desire to pursue CRSS state certification.
• WRAP Certification or desire to pursue WRAP Certificate.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks.
