The department is currently seeking motivated individuals for the part-time role of Recreation Program Assistant. This position is ideal for those who wish to leverage their leadership skills and creativity to enhance community experiences at various parks and facilities. As a Recreation Program Assistant, you will be involved in a diverse range of activities that contribute to the planning, development, and execution of recreation programs and special events. This role requires a proactive approach to implementing activities such as dances, luncheons, games, and sporting events. You will also be responsible for preparing promotional materials to advertise these events, ensuring that the community is well-informed and engaged. In addition to event planning, the Recreation Program Assistant will monitor daily operations at recreation facilities, ensuring that all activities run smoothly and that staff adhere to established rules and procedures. You will assist with participant registration for classes and sports programs, manage facility bookings, and handle financial transactions related to these activities. Providing excellent customer service to facility patrons and the general public is a key aspect of this role, as you will be the first point of contact for inquiries about programs and services. The position also involves evaluating programs and events, making recommendations for improvements, and providing leadership to Recreation Leaders and volunteers. This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, as hours may vary significantly from week to week, and you may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. This part-time, at-will position limits employees to less than 1,000 hours per fiscal year, allowing for a diverse and engaging work experience within the community.
