The position of Recreational Therapist involves performing primary functions such as assessing, planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating a designated group of patients in accordance with established Care Standards, Hospital and Departmental Policies. The therapist is responsible for managing all assigned supplies and equipment on the unit and promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Duties are performed in a manner consistent with St. Luke's mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Assessing patients' needs and developing treatment plans.
- Implementing therapeutic recreational activities.
- Educating patients and their families about therapeutic recreation.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of therapy programs.
- Managing supplies and equipment on the unit.
- Promoting teamwork among healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Rehabilitation Therapy, or a related field.
- Preferred: Missouri Chauffeur's License (Minimum Class E or above).
