About the position

The Recruiter for Enrollment Services at Kankakee Community College serves as the primary representative of the college in recruiting prospective students through a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach. This role is pivotal in implementing an annual student recruitment plan that targets various markets, including high schools and other potential student sources. The Recruiter will engage in generating interest, marketing to, and maintaining communication with prospective students throughout the enrollment process. This position is also responsible for supporting and promoting recruitment efforts that align with the college's annual recruitment strategy at community and campus events. In this role, the Recruiter demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement and results analysis concerning the student recruitment and intake process. They will collaborate with executive leadership, deans, directors, advisors, recruitment volunteers, students, committee members, and faculty to coordinate recruitment efforts effectively. The Recruiter will manage prospective student populations by establishing and maintaining relationships with potential students from local middle and secondary schools and career centers. Regular visits to high schools will be conducted to present and coordinate informational programs and tours for students, parents, teachers, and other groups. Building relationships with prospective students is crucial, and the Recruiter will utilize various communication methods, including mail, social media, texts, web, email, phone, and face-to-face interactions. They will also assist in implementing and expanding the college's customer relationship management (CRM) system, serving as a support administrator to monitor prospective students through the intake process. The Recruiter will provide enrollment management expertise to address the college's enrollment needs and actively participate in the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Recruitment Sub-Committee, coordinating communication and providing updates on student recruitment initiatives. Additionally, the Recruiter will maintain thorough knowledge of KCC programs to accurately answer questions and make referrals. They will assist in scheduling and staffing presentations at college fairs and other recruitment events, as well as organizing and hosting events such as the annual high school counselors' day and Explore KCC Day. The position requires flexibility, as evening and weekend hours may be necessary for recruitment events.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary college representative to recruit prospective students.

  • Generate, market to, and communicate with prospective students throughout the enrollment process.
  • Support and promote recruitment efforts at community and campus events.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, deans, directors, and faculty to coordinate recruitment efforts.
  • Manage prospective student populations and establish liaisons with area middle and secondary schools.
  • Conduct regular visits to high schools and present informational programs and tours.
  • Utilize personal follow-up communication to build relationships with prospective students.
  • Assist with the implementation and expansion of the college's CRM system.
  • Provide enrollment management expertise to address the college's enrollment needs.
  • Actively serve on the Strategic Enrollment Management Recruitment Sub-Committee.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of KCC programs to answer questions and make referrals.
  • Assist in scheduling and staffing presentations at college fairs and recruitment events.
  • Organize and host recruitment events such as high school counselors' day and Explore KCC Day.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Public relations, marketing, enrollment management, recruitment, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and motivational skills required.
  • Possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
