About the position

The Entry Level Recruiter at Volunteers of America Los Angeles will focus on proactive hiring for Adult and Veteran's Services programs. This role involves organizing and confirming candidate data, assisting in sourcing efforts, and ensuring a positive applicant experience in a fast-paced recruiting environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruits for identified positions for Adult and Veteran's Services, including screening and coordinating interviews with Program Management Staff.
• Ensures a steady pool of active candidates for new grant start-up programs.
• Updates candidate records and job postings in the ATS system.
• Coordinates interview schedules with applicants and hiring managers.
• Uses detailed screening and selection criteria to identify qualified candidates.
• Actively sources candidates and assists in pipeline creation for recruitment needs.
• Builds strong candidate pipelines by attending job fairs and engaging with schools and professional associations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications.
• High School diploma or GED and some college coursework in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• Exposure to the HR field, including recruiting.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in recruiting or recruitment function support.
• Related experience in a large complex organization.
• Knowledge of Recruiting for Education and related fields.
• Experience with JobScore ATS preferred.
