About the position

The Recruiter/Human Resource Assistant plays a crucial role in the recruitment and management of personnel and temporary employees at Airtech International Inc. This position involves a variety of personnel-related duties across several functional areas, including training, compliance, leave administration, benefits administration, employee relations, and events/recognition. The individual in this role will assist the Manager of Human Resources to ensure operational effectiveness and provide exceptional service to the employee population. The Recruiter/Human Resource Assistant will also provide clerical support to the HR department and employees, offering information regarding human resources activities, policies, processes, and procedures. Key responsibilities include conducting recruitment for personnel and temporary employees, maintaining accurate and timely filing of job postings, and performing new hire screenings, which include administering basic skills tests, background checks, onboarding, and orientations. The role also requires assisting with the day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties, providing clerical and administrative support, compiling and updating employee records in both hard and soft copies, and processing documentation to prepare reports related to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and performance evaluations. Additionally, the Recruiter/Human Resource Assistant will coordinate HR projects, take minutes during meetings, handle employee requests regarding HR issues, assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, and communicate with public services when necessary. The position also involves properly handling complaints and grievance procedures and conducting initial orientations for newly hired employees. Other tasks may be assigned by management as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit personnel and temporary employees.
  • Maintain accurate and timely filing of job postings.

  • Handle employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data such as absences and leave.
  • Communicate with public services when necessary.
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.
  • Conduct initial orientation for newly hired employees.
  • Perform other jobs and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent HR experience.
  • Proven relevant experience within manufacturing or staffing agency recruitment.
  • PC literacy and hands-on experience with an HRIS.
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel locally between Airtech facilities when necessary.
