The Recruiter/On-Boarding Specialist position at Brightside Academy is a full-time role based in Philadelphia, PA, focused on finding, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates to fill open positions within the organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless on-boarding experience for new hires. The responsibilities include coordinating new hire documents, executing all applicable background clearances for positions within the company, and serving as the first point of contact for new hires during their on-boarding experience, which may include both in-person and virtual training until completion. The ideal candidate will possess extensive organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as a cooperative approach when working with both internal and external personnel. The role requires the ability to attract candidates through various channels, such as social media and professional networks, and involves reviewing resumes and screening candidates. The Recruiter/On-Boarding Specialist will also initiate and track the completion of all new hire documents in accordance with departmental procedures, initiate background checks, and ensure compliance with pre-employment mandatory training requirements based on the applicant's position. Additionally, the position involves maintaining applicant tracking reports and internal checklists, communicating with applicants prior to employment to confirm location and schedule, and assisting with standard employment questions. The specialist may also assist in creating and implementing work environment and culture events that reinforce the company's mission and values, and may conduct or track employee engagement surveys. This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires a self-motivated and adaptable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attract candidates through various channels like social media and professional networks.
  • Review resumes and screen candidates.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for incoming applicants.
  • Initiate and track the completion of all new hire documents in accordance with department's procedures.
  • Initiate background/clearance checks; schedule applicants, review results, and finalize with approval or denial.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-employment mandatory training requirements based on the applicant's position.
  • Collect all standardized DHS documents and complete applicable internal forms.
  • Initialize and establish employee via company HRIS system.
  • Communicate with all applicants prior to employment inception confirming location and schedule; assist with standard employment questions.
  • Maintain applicant tracking report and internal checklists.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of work environment and culture events that reinforce the company's mission and values.
  • Leverage internal resources to ensure employee awareness, understanding, and participation in programs and/or process improvements related to building a best place to work culture.
  • Conduct, assist, or track employee engagement surveys.
  • Assist with projects associated with cultural development.
  • Serve as backup to producing identification badges, as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
