About the position

As a Recruiter at NARA Northwest, you will play a crucial role in managing the entire recruitment process for our organization, which is dedicated to providing culturally appropriate services to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and others in need. Your responsibilities will encompass full-cycle recruiting for all NARA programs, including medical and mental health services. You will be expected to stay current on HR guidelines and employment laws at the federal, state, and local levels, ensuring compliance throughout the recruitment process. In this position, you will create and develop job descriptions in collaboration with department managers, guiding candidates through the pre-employment process, which includes conducting criminal background checks, motor vehicle record reviews, drug screenings, reference checks, and credentialing. You will also administer new employee orientations, ensuring that all necessary documentation for benefits and legal compliance is completed accurately. Your role will be pivotal in supporting new hires and maintaining personnel records, as well as assisting with staffing issues as they arise. Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire recruitment process from sourcing candidates to coordinating interviews and conducting pre-employment checks.
  • Full cycle recruiting for all NARA programs, including medical and mental health programs.
  • Stay current on HR guidelines and employment laws for federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Create and develop job descriptions for department managers.
  • Guide and assist candidates in completing the pre-employment process, including criminal background checks, MVR reviews, drug screens, reference checks, and credentialing.
  • Administer new employee orientations and ensure proper documentation for benefits and legal compliance.
  • Maintain personnel records and assist with staffing issues as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of human resources experience required.
  • 2+ years of full cycle recruiting experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
  • Experience in social media recruiting campaigns and knowledge of SEO preferred.
  • Experience working with LinkedIn, Zip Recruiter, Mac's List, and Google Ads highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
