About the position

The Recruiter position at San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is a pivotal role within the HR Recruiting leadership team, responsible for sourcing and recruiting candidates for a variety of positions ranging from entry-level to senior-level roles across the enterprise. This position requires a proactive approach to candidate generation and sourcing, ensuring that quality talent is delivered with minimal lead time. The ideal candidate will focus on building strong relationships with internal partners, contributing to strategic process improvements, and providing a seamless candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. In this role, the Recruiter will build consultative relationships with department leaders to identify recruitment priorities and advise on effective hiring strategies. The Recruiter will proactively maintain a pool of qualified candidates through various sourcing methods, including online job boards, community outreach, and networking. The position involves screening, interviewing, and assessing candidates to present them for consideration, ensuring that candidates are guided smoothly through the interview process. This includes setting expectations, providing feedback, negotiating offers, and closing candidates while maintaining a positive candidate experience. Regular communication with HR leadership and hiring managers is essential to keep them informed about the status of open and future requisitions, facilitate hiring decisions, and update them on candidate progress. The Recruiter will also plan, schedule, and organize interviews, including hiring events, and utilize recruitment tracking reports to analyze activity and suggest improvements to recruitment strategies. Proficiency in using the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) and other online job boards is required, along with collaboration with other HR teams to ensure an efficient recruitment strategy that aligns with the enterprise's goals. Additional duties may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Lead candidates through the interview process, setting expectations and providing feedback.
  • Negotiate and close offers while ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Communicate regularly with HR leadership and hiring managers about open requisitions and candidate status.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize interviews and hiring events.
  • Utilize recruitment tracking reports to analyze activity and suggest recruitment strategy enhancements.
  • Fully utilize the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) and other online job boards.
  • Partner with other HR teams to ensure an efficient recruitment strategy that aligns with enterprise goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of talent acquisition or recruitment-related experience is required.
  • Solid experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday preferred) and online job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet sourcing strategies including Boolean search strings is required.
  • Effective and persuasive oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong consultative skills and the ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers is required.
  • Strong analytical skills, solid strategic thinking, and teamwork are required.

  • Certificates or licenses as required by the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, including a gaming license may be necessary.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance carrier.
