About the position

The Recruiter position at Na Oiwi Kane involves providing recruitment services primarily for IT candidates within the Department of Defense (DoD) sector. This role is crucial in marketing job opportunities to generate candidate interest, screening applicants based on their qualifications, and coordinating interviews with hiring managers. The recruiter will also be responsible for coordinating background checks, administering tests, verifying references, facilitating hiring paperwork, and reporting progress and results to ensure a smooth hiring process. The position requires a deep understanding of the clients' business and IT initiatives, as well as their specific technical and cultural environments, to effectively match candidates with their hiring needs. Additionally, the recruiter will negotiate unique compensation packages, including wages and benefits, to attract and hire candidates that meet the clients' requirements. The role is hybrid, based at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC, and requires a U.S. citizen eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance. Candidates must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, and must comply with Navy rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit top IT candidates and serve as the main point of contact throughout the entire recruiting cycle.
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates including outbound calling to match them with open positions.
  • Understand our clients' business and IT initiatives, as well as their specific technical and cultural environments to best match the candidates with their hiring needs.
  • Negotiate unique compensation packages (wages, benefits, etc.) to attract and hire candidates for our clients' needs.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and facilitate hiring paperwork.
  • Screen applicants based on qualifications and coordinate background checks.
  • Administer tests and verify references.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents suitable for federal employment.
  • At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, plus additional post-high school education.
  • Valid driver's license and able to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • No criminal record and successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Physically fit and able to pass a medical exam (if applicable).
  • Able to obtain a secret clearance and work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree OR Military experience OR Associates Degree and at least 3 years of professional experience OR 4 years of professional experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Knowledge of EEO and other recruiting best practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
