About the position

The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates to meet the staffing needs of learning centers. This role involves managing the full recruitment cycle, from identifying potential candidates to onboarding new hires, while ensuring a positive candidate experience and maintaining accurate recruitment records.

Responsibilities

  • Execute effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Work with Department Heads to ensure job descriptions are up to date and consistent across locations.
  • Write creative job postings to attract top talent.
  • Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and networking events.
  • Support local recruiting efforts for entry-level positions across all locations.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment activities.
  • Track recruiting KPIs on a monthly basis for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment.
  • Review current job postings to ensure that jobs over 30 days old are closed and re-opened as necessary.
  • Attend career fairs to support hiring efforts.
  • Post jobs on Paylocity upon request.
  • Screen resumes and applications for Director level and above positions.
  • Conduct interviews and assess candidates' qualifications and fit for the organization.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Manage the offer process with required collaboration on salary negotiations and extending job offers, with Sr. HR Director's approval.
  • Complete reference checks for Department Heads, if needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for new hires, addressing their questions and concerns during the onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition for new team members.
  • Facilitate the completion of electronic new hire paperwork and maintain onboarding materials.
  • Monitor the progress and integration of new employees, providing support as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year experience with high-volume recruiting.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and screen candidates.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms for recruitment purposes.
  • Understanding of the onboarding process, including verifying I-9s.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in a HRIS management system; Paylocity is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition or HR sourcing, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment labor laws and best practices in onboarding processes.
  • Advanced certifications and/or coursework in human resources.
  • Experience with cold calling potential candidates as part of recruitment efforts.
