About The Position

The Recruitment and Retention Data Analyst for the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting detailed analytical work related to recruitment and retention efforts. This role involves leveraging analytical and technical skills to innovate and maintain solutions that address staffing and human resources data, ultimately supporting the department's goal of effective and inclusive policing.

Requirements

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work in areas such as budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in the 182X Class series.
  • Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) may substitute for one (1) year of required experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data visualization software such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with public administration or human resources data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data collection and reporting procedures regarding recruitment and retention activities.
  • Conduct data analysis and data visualization activities; develop dashboards and presentations using data visualization software (PowerBI or Tableau) to understand employment trends.
  • Use a variety of data analysis tools (e.g., queries, exports, pivot tables, definitions, visualizations, and data quality assessments) to understand SFPD employment data.
  • Analyze existing and proposed administrative policies and procedures as well as organizational problems.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research best practices and make recommendations.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
