About the position

The Recruitment & Inclusion Specialist will be a key member of the Town of Ocean City's Human Resources Team, focusing on enhancing the recruitment strategy for both full-time and seasonal employees. This role emphasizes attracting a diverse and qualified workforce while promoting the benefits of working in Ocean City. The specialist will also serve as an expert on the Town's online applicant portal and will be responsible for training hiring managers on best practices in recruitment and diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Re-imagine the Town's recruitment strategy for full-time and seasonal employees.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to expand the Town's recruitment reach.
  • Identify new and non-traditional recruitment techniques.
  • Serve as the internal expert for the Town's online applicant portal.
  • Train hiring managers on system use and recruitment best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training on recruitment and diversity-related topics.
  • Participate in HR-driven initiatives and serve on committees.
  • Plan special events and contribute to the Employee Newsletter.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as writing and posting ads, screening candidates, creating offer letters, conducting reference checks, and onboarding new hires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR Management, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in human resources (i.e. SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, Div. & Incl.) is strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in recruitment or human resources.
  • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work comfortably in HR-related software packages.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
