About the position

The Recruitment Specialist at Loudoun County Government plays a crucial role in the Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services by partnering with hiring managers to source, interview, and select top talent for various positions. This position emphasizes a commitment to person-centered, recovery-oriented services and supports, contributing to the overall mission and values of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and support hiring managers with sourcing candidates and posting job advertisements.
  • Screen applicants and provide guidance on interview questions.
  • Actively participate in both virtual and in-person panel interviews.
  • Facilitate and manage the Department's full life cycle recruitment activities within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Utilize technology and niche posting sites to source candidates for difficult-to-recruit positions.
  • Work with Department Leadership to identify and implement effective recruitment strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison with County HR, developing strong working relationships with HR members.
  • Ensure adherence to County and MHSADS recruitment policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State fair hiring practices.
  • Process Employee Actions and ensure all applicable paperwork is completed and processed into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • One year of professional level experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in recruitment, preferably in Mental Health or Human Services.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple ongoing projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • High level of proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
