About the position
The Recycle Warehouse Associate is responsible for processing scrap metal and performing various daily plant functions as assigned by the operations Group Leader. This role emphasizes regulatory compliance and continuous improvement to protect the environment and reduce pollution from organizational activities.
Responsibilities
- Follows safety guidelines and procedures.
- Performs receiving, storage, and shipping functions according to written instructions.
- Operates equipment such as overhead crane, forklift, truck mobile, and baler machine.
- Ensures paperwork is completed accurately.
- Participates in team meetings and training.
- Actively involved in the kaizen program.
- Cleans work area according to 5S standards.
- Assists in other areas as time permits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Crane license required; forklift license may be obtained during the first 3 months of employment.
- Ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
