About the position

The Recycling Scale House Clerk at Pratt Industries is responsible for weighing and coordinating incoming and outgoing loads, maintaining administrative accounting duties, and ensuring accurate scale operations. This entry-level position requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment while adhering to safety protocols. The role involves tracking daily receipts, maintaining records, and participating in safety committees, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh and coordinate incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Assist and maintain all administrative accounting duties along with scale operations.
  • Track daily receipts and inform operators of OCC and SS loads for quality inspection.
  • Maintain records detailing the quality of incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Document all deductions with pictures on Google Drive.
  • Weigh trucks in and out and participate in safety committee meetings.
  • Cross train with other Admin/Scale Clerks and write & reconcile peddler checks.
  • Responsible for vendor scale checks and reconciliation.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving logs completely and add freight costs in comments section.
  • Log drivers/loads on the receiving/shipping logs and key all loads on the day of transfer.
  • Notify shipping when drivers arrive to pick up outbound loads.
  • Reconcile all Shipping and Receiving logs and document weekly reports with outstanding line items.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Pursuing an Accounting degree or Bachelor's with work experience in the accounting field.
  • Experience in SAP, Excel, and basic accounting principles.
  • Detail-oriented with time-sensitive attention to monthly reporting.
  • Understanding of financial forecasting and scale operations.
  • Professional attitude and conduct with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.
  • High degree of safety awareness and discipline.
