About the position

The OpenShift Principal Engineer I will be part of the Core Wireless Engineering team at Charter Communications/Spectrum, focusing on building systems infrastructure and developing integration strategies for applications into Red Hat OpenShift. This role involves system administration functions, technical documentation, and collaboration with design teams to enhance telecommunications and signal processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Build systems infrastructure and load application software.
• Contribute to the orchestration solution development effort.
• Develop the integration strategy for applications into Red Hat OpenShift.
• Write technical documentation for installation and troubleshooting software.
• Collaborate with technical operations staff on system design and configuration.
• Advise team leaders and work with design teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering work experience.
• 5+ years of project management work experience.
• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Basic knowledge of industry specifications and standards (IEEE, ANSI, etc.).
• Basic knowledge in network design, architecture, protocols, and topology.
• Basic knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
• Basic knowledge of network devices and appliances.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all business levels.
• Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment and learn new technology quickly.

Nice-to-haves

• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
• Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.).
