About the position

The Reentry Systems Manager position at the Department of Corrections in Tumwater, WA, is a non-permanent, full-time role focused on overseeing and directing the work of Statewide Reentry Navigators. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the agency's mission to improve public safety by facilitating successful reentry of individuals into the community post-incarceration. The manager will collaborate with community partners and other Reentry Systems Managers to develop and implement programs that address barriers to reentry and reduce recidivism.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the work of Statewide Reentry Navigators.
  • Monitor individual employee and team performance to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and individual performance evaluations.
  • Provide mentorship and training for Reentry Navigators.
  • Develop and administer policies and programs for statewide reentry efforts.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance reentry services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies regarding reentry programs.
  • Manage staff schedules and participate in the recruitment and hiring process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and seven years of progressive reentry related work experience, or
  • AA degree in criminal justice or related field and five years of experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field and four years of experience, or
  • Master's degree in criminal justice or related field and three years of experience.
  • Experience working with system-and-community-based resources for reentry needs.
  • Experience mentoring criminal justice-involved individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in collaborative relationships with external entities such as treatment facilities and housing organizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in building resource manuals for reentry programs.
