About the position

Instrument, Pricing & Common Reference Data is a center of excellence providing securities reference data to multiple lines of business across J.P. Morgan. As a Reference Data Analyst within the ARDS Instrument Reference Data Operations team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Reference Data to its subscribers from major external market providers under a single operating model. The role involves sourcing, validating, mastering, and distributing instrument attributes via J.P. Morgan's strategic Reference Data architecture, which is essential for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement, and regulatory reporting. As an Asset Reference Data Analyst, you will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of data for our internal customers. You will collaborate with our technology and operations change teams to drive innovative solutions using artificial intelligence or by submitting change requests to Technology. This role is integral to the success of our security services organization, and you will play a key part in maintaining the quality and reliability of our reference data. Your responsibilities will include daily validation in the firm's strategic reference data application to ensure data quality, working with data vendors and the technology team to resolve data issues, and improving data quality. You will also be expected to complete all daily and monthly tasks within deadlines, resolve client queries promptly and professionally, and participate in meetings with internal stakeholders to help drive products and solutions that meet client needs. Additionally, you will escalate all issues promptly and effectively to your supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Daily validation in the firm's strategic reference data application to ensure quality of data.
  • Work with data vendors and technology team to resolve data issues and improve quality of data.
  • Complete all daily and monthly tasks within deadlines.
  • Resolve client queries promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and help drive products and solutions suitable for client needs.
  • Escalate all issues promptly and effectively to supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience in Fixed Income, Fund Valuation, Pricing or other related roles.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and interest in bonds/financial markets and products.
  • Knowledge of industry activities - particularly corporate actions, index benchmarking, stock markets and fixed income products.
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-look ups.
  • Experience/knowledge of Artificial intelligence/Machine learning tools is a plus.
  • Analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the proven ability to work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate within a team environment and interact across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Market Data vendor knowledge, i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters is a plus.
  • Demonstrate customer focus and follow-up skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor degree with preference in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
