About the position
The Special Education Teacher for Kindergarten with an Autism Focus at Monte Vista Elementary is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with autism and other special needs. The role involves creating an inclusive learning environment, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with parents and staff to ensure the educational success of students.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with autism and other special needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Requirements
- California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Moderate to Severe Support Needs, or Early Childhood Education with Autism Authorization.
- CBEST or equivalent certification.
- Proof of English Learner Authorization/CLAD Certificate.
- At least three Letters of Reference less than one year old, including one from an immediate supervisor.
