About the position

The Refractive Surgery Consultant at Minnesota Eye Consultants is responsible for driving growth in refractive and advanced cataract services. This hybrid role involves both in-office and remote work, focusing on patient education, counseling, and ensuring exceptional patient experiences throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed growth targets for refractive and advanced cataract services.
  • Provide education and counseling based on physician recommendations.
  • Drive exceptional experiences for patients and referring providers.
  • Respond timely and accurately to patient inquiries, both in-person and via phone.
  • Ensure an exceptional patient experience during consultations and pre-operative appointments.
  • Collaborate with management to promote patient experience excellence.
  • Follow up with non-committed patients to engage them in the education process.
  • Prepare patient charts accurately for upcoming procedures.
  • Monitor electronic medical records and complete assigned tasks according to policy.
  • Complete and send 30-day refractive cards and letters to patients.
  • Coordinate referrals for surgery, obtaining approvals and scheduling appointments.

Requirements

  • High school education with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong focus on customer service, sales, and medical background.
  • 2+ years of Ophthalmology experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • COA, COT or COMT certification preferred.
