About the position

The Refrigeration Installation Services Welder/Technician - Lead position at CSI involves leading a field crew in the installation of refrigeration systems at customer sites. The role requires a combination of technical welding skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality service. The technician will be responsible for overseeing installations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining high standards of workmanship while providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and SMAW welding, grinding, polishing, and operation of various equipment including forklifts, torches, saws, and drills.
• Accurately read tape, scale, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Assist with pipe fitting as needed.
• Oversee the field installation of refrigeration systems, providing leadership and coaching to the crew.
• Commit to safety on the job and represent the company positively.

Requirements

• TIG and SMAW welding experience is required; GMAW welding experience is preferred.
• 5+ years of refrigeration welding experience is required.
• Pipe fitting experience is required.
• Ability to read blueprints is required.
• Knowledge of ammonia industrial refrigeration systems is required.
• Experience operating basic construction equipment is preferred.
• Forklift operation experience is required.
• Experience with drill motors, plasma torches, orbital saws, scissor lifts, and forklifts is required.
• Experience working at customer facilities is preferred.
• Experience in a lead position is required.
• A valid Class E driver's license or the ability to obtain one is required.
• Strong attention to detail is necessary for quality work.
• Ability to effectively lead and coach others is critical.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with a drill motor, plasma torch, orbital saw, scissor lift, and fork lift is preferred.
• Experience working at customers' facilities is preferred.
