About the position
The Service Technician position at CoolSys involves assisting in the repair and overhaul of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities
- Assist in the repair and overhaul of refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment.
- Provide service by repairing and overhauling equipment such as compressors, water pumps, and air handlers.
- Perform general repair work on HVAC equipment including air conditioning units and gas furnaces.
- Conduct preventative maintenance by diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
- Test malfunctioning systems using electrical and mechanical skills.
- Maintain accurate records of work history.
- Process job tickets and work orders promptly.
- Support by picking up, delivering, and installing cases.
- Perform minor construction and remodeling projects including new installations.
- Drive company vehicle safely and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- EPA certification.
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
- Experience with refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, and previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is helpful.
- Good driving record and ability to work independently.
- Emergency on-call availability is required.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance and sit/stand for several hours.
