About the position

The Refugee Case Manager (Bilingual) at Sponsors Organized to Assist Refugees, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO), is responsible for providing effective case management services to refugees. This role focuses on helping refugees achieve self-sufficiency through comprehensive social service assistance, including employment support and housing assistance. The position requires bilingual communication skills and a commitment to the mission and goals of EMO.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and following up on case management plans.
• Determining social service eligibilities.
• Providing comprehensive social service assistance leading to self-sufficiency.
• Identifying refugees' employment skills and history, and providing referrals to employment skills training and job support services.
• Providing ongoing problem solving and support for clients.
• Assisting with transportation to initial appointments.
• Assisting with securing permanent housing and completing rental applications.
• Maintaining comprehensive and timely case notes.
• Participating fully and professionally in staff trainings and meetings.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bilingual communication skills in English and one of the refugee languages.
• Experience working with refugees.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• High-level organization and prioritization skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
