About the position
The Refugee Cash Assistance Intern will support the RCA Caseworker in providing trauma-informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants, facilitating a positive resettlement experience and promoting client self-sufficiency. This unpaid internship involves direct client interaction, assessment of needs, and collaboration with various stakeholders to develop tailored service plans.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the case worker to conduct intake services with clients to assess needs and develop self-sufficiency plans.
- Providing individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
- Assessing and monitoring client progress to support their attainment of established goals and address challenges.
- Detailing each client interaction in accordance with program requirements.
- Inputting client information in database(s) and assisting with tracking and reporting as needed.
- Collaborating effectively with coworkers and partner organizations.
- Building and maintaining relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Fluency in a second language, with a strong preference for Spanish and/or Haitian Creole.
- Ability to work 10-20 hours a week.
